We’re naturally a bit skeptical when we receive an email with the subject line “Perhaps The Prettiest Girl In Porn?”; after all, we see a lot of lookers (and read a lot of breathless press releases) in our line of work, so we’ve become pretty resistant to that kind of hyperbole. But when we saw that the email came from illustrious babe photographer B. Field at Beauty Is Divine—and that it had an exclusive selection of photos attached by way of evidence—well, we couldn’t help but consider his assertion more carefully. Field tells us that Francesca here moved to LA from Florida to persue a porn career and that Beauty Is Divine is the first site to feature her, though she’s been shooting for several different studios and photographers and will soon be all over the web before too long (even if this set did make it to us too late to be included in today’s sex and candy roundup). Back in April, Maxim publisher Felix Dennis told a reporter — after numerous bottles of wine — that he killed a man. As one might imagine, this news spread rapidly throughout the world and Dennis quickly retracted his statement, claiming it was an April Fools joke.

But good murder stories never die, and BusinessWeek’s Jon Fine
(disclosure) — who pointed out a flaw in Dennis’ excuse — caught up with the man, the myth, the legend and asked him about the rumor:

BW: I’ll just be blunt. Have you murdered anybody?

FD: I’m not speaking about that question. I’ve said everything I had to say about it. You heard it at the thing [a lecture he’d just given to students at Columbia University]. You read that the story was hogwash. The only additional information I will give you is that I spoke to the editor of the Times four times on the telephone before he printed the story. He accepted the story was hogwash. He said, “I know it’s hogwash.” I said, “fine. Then you must do what you’re going to do.”

(Fine notes that Times‘ spokespeople said James Harding never had this conversation nor has he ever used the word “hogwash.”)

Well, we did it! Despite months of hype, Google News Alerts, blocked-off Manhattan streets, annoying trend pieces in the newspaper and approximately 6,000 posts on our various sibling websites, we managed to get though the entire build up to the Greatest Chick Flick Of Our Generation without writing one single post about it. Until now.

Actually, we’d be remiss if we didn’t at least give mention any new movie that had the word “sex” in the title. And despite trying to resist its relentless marketing machine, even the non-female, non-gay members of Team Fleshbot are fans of the show. It may or may not have fundamentally changed either sex or this particular city, but its influence on pop culture cannot be ignored.
