Pervs Fight Back! [Antiantiporn]

Posted in censorship, australia, in the news, politics, AB, straight, Antiantiporn on November 17th, 2008

Canada’s not the only one with a Sex Party—come Thursday, Australia will have one of its very own, too! And when we say “sex party” we mean a political party dedicated to fighting a stuffy, sex-negative political environment (and, specifically, that nasty little porn filter), not, you know, a nationwide orgy. Though if the Australian Sex Party gets its way, who knows? Australia’s got room for more than one sex party, after all. (google.com via nerve.com; thumbnail via Ask Jolene)

Australia Continues To Fight The Menace Of Internet Porn [Antiporn Watch]

Posted in censorship, australia, AB, antiporn, Hysteria, straight, teh internets, but what about the children?, Antiporn watch on November 14th, 2008

Australia’s attempt to block all internet porn from entering its borders keeps marching on. It the filter’s current incarnation, over 10,000 sites would be blocked, with no way to completely opt out of the filter. So the next time some Aussie pop star sheds her top, no one will know. Well, no one in Australia, at least. (avn.com)

Posted in movies, censorship, AB, Hype, antiporn, Elizabeth Banks, Kevin Smith, Seth Rogen on October 17th, 2008

The only mainstream movie that matters (also known as “Zack and Miri Make a Porno”) has continued its unabashed and unrelenting hype (in spite of a whole lot of backlash). Not only can you make your own Porn ID (whatever that is), you can also help Zack and Miri out behind the scenes. There’s still no nudity, but, well—they kinda just had us at “porno.” (usatoday.com + zackandmiristarid.com + zackandmirifootage.com)

Flying somewhere? You should probably check … [Antiporn]

Posted in censorship, AB, antiporn, straight, airplanes, Virgin America, WiFi on October 17th, 2008

Flying somewhere? You should probably check and find out if your airline is blocking adult content on their wi-fi service. Fortunately, MSNBC has put together a helpful guide to airline wi-fi filtering. If Fleshbot is the only thing that’ll get you through a four hour flight, you’d better fly Virgin America. The good news: the FCC has approved a proposal … [Teh Internets]

Posted in censorship, AB, antiporn, straight, teh internets on October 15th, 2008

The good news: the FCC has approved a proposal for nationwide, free broadband internet. The bad news: that internet would have to be porn and obscenity-free. Um, what’s the point, then? (avn.com)
