The Championships at Wimbledon are all about tradition. Strawberries and cream, grass courts, bows and curtsies to the assembled royalty, and when it comes to dress code—tennis whites only are allowed on the hallowed grounds. Of course, what you wear under those tennis whites is entirely up to you, as French teen Tatiana Golovin showed the whole word when she showed the whole world her pair of fire engine red undies during this week’s Grand Slam event. Catching a glimpse of grunting hotties in their oh-so-short skirts is also a time-honored tradition, but no one has ever seen anything like that at Centre Court. Hey, it only took female players 100 years or so to get the same prize money as men, so maybe it’s time to break a few other traditions as well.

Yes, it’s that time of year again … time to complain about how the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue just isn’t what it used to be, even if laments about how the annual supermodel bikini blowout isn’t as necessary anymore in the age of Maxim have also become as traditional as the postman thumbing through your copy of the magazine before stuffing it your mailbox. We suspect that SI’s editors agree, which is probably why they’ve chosen Beyoncé Knowles as this year’s cover girl. It’s the first time that the coveted slot has gone to an actual celebrity rather than a professional model, and it seems to signify that the magazine feels the need to change things up a bit in order to stay relevant (and generate some much needed buzz.) They also seem to understand that no one reads magazines on paper anymore, which is why they’ve rather graciously shared over 1,000 photos and dozens of videos on their website—all for free. It may not be as unique as it once was, but the girls are just as hot as ever and it’s very generous of them to save everyone a trip to the newsstand on a cold February morning. So go ahead and enjoy the beach-errfic action right on your monitor. Your favorite issue of Stuff (if not FHM) will still be waiting for you in the bathroom.

We haven’t watched an NBA game since the first time Michael Jordan retired (or was it the second?), but that’s only because we’ve forgotten about the simple pleasures of a good halftime show. In fact, after being reminded of the other entertainments the league has available, we’re ready to move to Houston and throw our allegiance behind the Rockets—and their cheerleaders, to be more precise. These high-flying gals sure know how to pump up a crowd. Just look at the intensity on their faces as they slam those balls into the hole (er, hoop)! If looking at these photos doesn’t fire you up to hit the hardwood, you just don’t know how to appreciate sports. Surely there’s a niche porn site here somewhere waiting to happen?
