As much as we will always give Michael Lucas a break (what can we say; we’re suckers for an accent and a divine pair of cheekbones), we have to say it’s a little disingenuous of him to say that he was “unaware” of the controversy surrounding oral cumshots and cum eating in the non-bareback gay porn industry—after all, as J.C. Adams pointed out a few days ago, he already discussed the subject on his blog a few years back. That said, we’re looking forward to his upcoming Eurostud opus “Swallow With Pride”. It may not mine that much new territory—some mainstream porn studios like Bel Ami have been making videos with all sorts of cum-guzzling action for years already—but it’ll certainly give Lucas’ detractors more to talk about, and the rest of us something to chew on.

As Adams also says, “That’s the question we face: In the business of erotic fantasy, are we now at risk of producing sterile onscreen sex? Lucas Entertainment announced yesterday that the dreamy Wilfried Knight would be making his pornic return in the cheekily if predictably titled “Got WILF?” … and then announced a few hours later that the title of Wilfried’s comeback vehicle had been changed to the somewhat less cheeky if more provocative “Brothers’ Reunion” in order to highlight his plot relationship to costar Anthony Marks. Frankly, we wouldn’t care if they decided to call it “Grandpaw Bobo’s Good Time Piss Party Jamboree”; having Wilfried back on the screen is good enough for us. Okay, we’d be lying if we said we weren’t excited about Lucas Entertainment’s newest release, “Rapture Inn”. Bitch all you want about the Micahel Lucas’ curious lips or his Ginsu cheekbones or his litigious off-screen antics … but the man knows how to put together a porn film, stuffing them (and the guys in them) with lots of hot, hot stuff.

That said, we’d also be lying if we said we weren’t a tad intrigued—nay, concerned—by the two slightly different “Rapture Inn” box covers in circulation. The one on the Lucas Entertainment store (on top, natch) features torso shots of Jason Crew and Madonna Cher Jarrod, hastily Photoshopped onto a fuzzy waterfall image from iStockphoto. On the back: a Brady Bunch-style collage of homo headshots, plus one face-off between Lucas and Crew, which seems titillating but slightly odd since they apparently don’t get it on in the flick. To the left, there’s Crew again, showing off his assets. (Yeah, we hate that pun, too, but it’s Friday and we’re lazy.)

The other cover, viewable at TLAvideo, is far more polished—though admittedly still Photoshoppy and drop-shadowy. This one has Crew’s assets front and center, sandwiched between Gallagher Prince Jarrod and our long-standing Teen Beat crush Antton Harri, who looks something like a toned-up Jeff Corwin or a beefed-up Stephen Colbert. The three are backed by another stock landscape, but at least it and the title are more cheery than before. (Which is nice, because the tag line about guys who check into the Rapture Inn “AND NEVER CHECK OUT!” is pretty creepy.) On the flip side of the box, there’s essentially the same collage, but on the left we now have Harri standing in front of Lucas and his armpit. Excuse us for a sec while we ponder Jeff Corwin and a fuzzy pit….

Okay, where were we? …Oh yeah: so what does all this mean—apart from the fact that we’re nitpicky and it’s a slow news day? Well, here are some of our conclusions:

• The Lucas Entertainment version could be a director’s cut, leaving TLA’s version for the plebes. Which would explain the fact that the former boasts three hours of ugly-bumping while the latter has merely two.

• The TLA version could be an early mock-up, later refined to fit the Lucas brand. Which would kinda make sense, since the TLA image looks more like a lost iteration of “Crossroads” cover art than anything la Lucas has put out.

• On the other hand, the TLA version could be the final product—the result of focus group research that revealed the world’s gay masturbators (i.e. all of us) really get off on Crew’s ass and the thought of blowing Stephen Colbert. At least, that’s what we’d say if we were in such a focus group.

• The two covers could both be in production, but aimed at different markets—you know, the “official” one for all of Michael’s die-hard fans and the collectors (there are porn collectors, right?), and the other for…well, people who like bright, sparkly things. Sarah Jessica Parker, maybe?

This may come as a shocker, but it’s time to face facts: the world is going global! Forget apple pie and LOLcats: today, websites are available in non-English languages; Mickey D’s offers salads with exotic Asian flavors; and beloved American icons like Kim Cattrall turn out to be, in fact, Canadian. In such a topsy-turvy place, is it any wonder that the rising stars of porn possess names that confuse the Western tongue, like Makhalyo Shebedyak? Or that provocatively-cheekboned erotic impresario Michael Lucas is the man introducing them to the cheeseburger-eating public? Nyet, we say!

So how did America lose its longstanding cultural hegemony in the porn world anyway? Take a good long look at the Lucas Entertainment-produced “Juvie Boys 2″, featuring Mr. Shebedyak and seven other consonant-heavy twinks, and the answer will be perfectly clear: they’re just hungrier. Can you see the expression on the undernourished Khasli Slaby’s face? He really wants that cock in his mouth, and not just for its promise of sweet protein! Like a nominally more masculine Nomi Malone he’ll do anything to get to the top … and we mean anything, not like those decadent American gay-for-pay porn stars who turn up their noses at common cockgobbling.

Then there’s Lukas Prenosil. He’s so hungry for it, he’ll nibble Josef Sobotka’s very toes! He’ll endure meager floggings from Josef’s tiny hand! All for a taste of porno fame and fortune!

This goes on for two and a half hours, people. With just eight guys. Their fortitude in the face such indignities—well, it’s beyond anything we’ve got in our arsenal. Raise the white flag and hand over the keys to foreigners like that pesky Matt Ramsey (aka Peter North). Game over, man. Game over!

It’s been a while since we caught up with big dicked, bodaciously buttock’d Fleshbot crush object Brian Bodine, but since we last checked in he certainly seems to have been keeping busy, with a recent trip to Budapest courtesy of Michael Lucas now ticked off his to-do list.
